sigh

sigh. i am having a REALLY hard time finishing the commissioned pieces for my friend. first of all, planning a wedding is quite labor intensive, and i just never really feel like i have time to paint lately. also winter just keeps dragging on and on and on (welcome to minnesota) and i find it hard to be inspired when it's so dreary out. THIRDLY, i'm not completely thrilled with WHAT my friend wants. he wants these odd rectangles in each painting, and i feel like they just ruin everything. i'm also having a hard time making the 2nd and 3rd paintings "match" the first one. i am thinking i might have to just start all over and then add the rectangles in after the undercoat is completely dry. that might make the rectangles stand out even MORE though....and i'm not sure i want that. AND THEN today i ran out of the right colored inks and of course it's easter so i can't even go buy more! i am just really grumpy about this and had to vent. i also forgot to mention that i got ink in my hair.
